The story behind this cue was that I had a friend who's father was a very high roller up at the casino, and when they were going to hold the Callenge of Champions pool tournament he told me that the night before the event started they were going to hold a pro am tournament where they teamed up the pros (I think there was only 8 for these events) with some scrubs and have a small tournament, catch was the winner got $5,000 and the losers got $500 just to play. The good news was he told me his father got him and I in the event, well my buddy was a D player at best and the way I was playing at the time I didn't care who I teamed up with there would be no way we'd be losing, so I was kinda happy. Anyway the big night comes and I am there cue in hand ready to go, and of course you guessed it, only 8 spots the casino wanted to make another high roller happy so my buddy got in and I was on the outside looking in. Good news for me was not only did the losers all get some cash, but they gave each player a free Viking cue, my buddy felt bad and gave me the cue as an I'm sorry dude prize. It wasn't $5K and it wasn't a shot to play in a pro am, but this along with dinner made the trip well worth it.

Part 2 of this cue that really makes me enjoy it is that if you look at this cue with an open mind you shall see that this design is a take off of the notched diamond, and most people don't notice it or see how this is one more example of how you can take something traditional and put a twist on it to create a whole new look. The cue is unique it's not some points with inlays, it's not the best cue in the world but IMO it's very cool for a production cue. It has some sort of modified Viking quick release joint and doesn't play 1/2 bad.

I have to say that this is the first Viking that I actually like. I don't know about most people but the first thing I saw was a notched diamond. For that matter, when I look at the propeller inlay I see a tweaked notched diamond...lol.
