My first cue purchase. A McDermott B-1, bought in 1977 while I was in college. It is all original except for the ivory ferrule and new tip that was added at the McDermott factory when I lived in Milwaukee. It has a pretty nice piece of curly walnut in the forearm and a pearlized sleeve. Over the years, the shaft was warped and straightened out at least 10 times.

Mr. McDermott was very kind and gave me a tour of their facility in Menomonee Falls. Interestingly, some of his guys also studied my Josswest and asked some questions about how it was built. Since Bill let me see it in various stages of build, I could tell them a little, but really didn't know much.

My girlfriend at the time got a B-16 that was pretty sweet. Yeah, I know. Women. I'm still trying to get that cue from her.

Scott <<== the G/F finished runner-up in two consecutive ACU-I intercollegiate 14.1 tournaments in the late 70's
