This is the first Hercek cue that I owned; or hit with for that matter. It is a relatively simple cue, but catches a lot of attention when people see it. It is also probably my favorite playing cue.

I was lucky enough to get this from the original owner off of eBay. He kept it in immaculate condition and it still looked virtually new when it arrived. The original smooth leather wrap felt great and was virtually seamless. However, most of you know that I prefer Irish linen and Joel swapped it out with Penn linen when he removed the original owner's initials from the Hoppe ring and engraved "Hercek" on it. Definitely "old school" now.

The curly maple in the forearm is some of the best I've ever seen in a cue and shimmers in the light. The last pictures show the matching joint protector that Alton Takata (aka: cuecaps) built for me. It really completes the package. I'm working on building JP's for the shafts, but my knowledge and speed are WAY behind Alton's.

Through researching this cue, buying it and working with Joel on personalizing it for me, I have gotten to know him a little. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting or talking to Joel, he is one of the top guys in the business and a great all-around person in general. Can't wait to work with Joel on a killer design when my name bubbles to the top of his list.

Scott

You kidding me?

I can hardly wait for Mr. Hercek to call me and tell me it's time.

Yours truly,
The Woim
