One of the best looking cues I've seen out of Joel's shop this year.

Jim <----Has to get him one of those

Nice, I can't wait to see the rest!! Last I heard he was working on 2002 orders, when did you get on his list?

I'll post more pictures later that help explain the design. These were taken by Joel. As always, it was a pleasure working with him.

p.s. the cue has a great feel - crisp, lively, solid and easy to move the cue ball.

Scott <<== loves it

A couple of years ago I mentioned to Joel that I had a pocket watch from the 1800's that was handed down from my great grandfather, and that I would like to see if he could incorporate some of the design elements from it into a cue design. He liked the idea because he also has a watch from that era passed down through his family. We went with that theme and Joel did the entire design.

Additionally, at SBE 2011 I stopped by Ron Thomas' booth and saw a 1x2 case with an embossed "Hercek" insert - reddish brown into black leather. Since Joel was using those same basic colors, it seemed like a great fit. Karma, baby!

I got the cue last Wednesday, totally clueless what to expect. Joel had told me that he had a new ring design and combination, but that was about it. I was blown away.

Here are a few more pictures I took today. Not up to Chris' or Berny's or Myron's standards, but they will do for now.

Scott

The primary ivory inlays are based on the watch hour and second hands.

The smaller cluster is an ivory inlay and four silver "leaves", an interpretation of parts of the engraving on the outside of the watch.

The joint rings (and also incorporated into the sleeve and nose) focus on the heart of a watch, the gears. Joel used a gold inlay for these.
