Thomas,
Did you use glass inlays?

No glass - that would make it a "break" cue. Time honored materials (used in cues for many decades), with new techniques I invented to emulate the Chihuly look.

I would guess that you were one of those kids who did not color inside the lines. I always look forward to seeing what you will come up with next. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Good stuff !!!!!!
I look at this cue and it reminds me how right those cuemakers who claim there is nothing new out there to create.

Very impressive. This cue stands apart from the crowd.

Yeh, but just think of all the copycat cuemakers who are into cue design theft and how many HUNDREDS (maybe thousands) are now going to be made over the next few years as a result of his original creations. The floodgates are now open.

I'll be impressed if so much as one is made by a copycat even if Thomas gave them written instructions on how to do it.

Outstanding work with skills far beyond the rest of the crowd. A Nikola Tesla of pool cues.

Just curious if the person they were made for is also a collector of Glass as well as cues . What's the tie in? They are very cool and totally outside the box.

You bring up a very good point about "outside the box and who they were made for." I think there are no boundaries for new creative ideas to be done with cues, but how will the pool cue buying public react to it and would they be willing to pay big bucks unless it was discussed and agreed upon beforehand?

Or maybe it's "build it and they will come" from the aspect of uniqueness. Then there's always the "minor" issue regarding...how much will it cost? When created by a big name cuemaker, probably 98% - 99% of cue buyers will be eliminated right from the start.

The cue was 100% speculative on my part, from when I first conceived the idea several years ago. Over the ensuing years I have visited a number of Dale Chihuly exhibits in different states and have acquired $$$ in books and DVDs about the man and his impressive body of work. Early on I made contact with the Chihuly Workshop in Seattle, and they found the entire project very interesting, up to and including sending me additional books on some of Chihuly's lesser known work. From that inspirational material I have a number of other cues planned for the future.

This initial effort, "Chihuly on Cue", was purchased immediately by the first collector who held it in his hands.
