Dennis Dieckman passed away today. I'll miss the old coot. IMO, beneath the apparent craziness was a real special person.

He certainly lived a colorful life. Probably more colorful than any one person really knows. My life was definitely more rich, enlightening, and interesting for having him in it.

A lot of people don’t know this, but he used to buy eggs on one side of the island for $.05 and the pedal to the other side of the island and sell the for $.07. Now that’s great business. Many times he would contact me and challenge me to a crazy hair contest at SBE!! Yes me, he would challenge ME to a hair contest! Hard to tell if he was really that crazy or he just didn’t like to lose. He was a great guy and there was never a dull moment with him around, I was happy to have called him a friend.

Jim <—— going to miss that crazy fucker

I will have "little more of that brown liquor" in honor of Dennis and one of the most fun and memorable nights of my life. Laughed so hard my sides literally hurt the next day.

They broke the mold before they made Dennis. His passing definitely leaves a void in the collective personality of cuemaking that won't be easily filled - if ever.

Clearly Dennis was "One of a Kind" for sure . . . I loved watching his tapes on cue making at lunch time - great entertainment for sure, and his leather wrap installation method will be one of those things that I will never forget. March on Zoomie . . . they are looking for a fourth on the first tee in Heaven.
