hi guys,

here are the photos of the cue...

the only reason i let go of the cue is that i felt a genuine love of the cue from the prospective buyer.. i just couldn't say no.

besides, i was supposed to have finalised a new cue around the same time with john and marylane and i figured the more people that get to try john's cues, the more people would truly appreciate his skill as a cue maker..

looking back, i wouldn't say i regret selling it ( as it is obvious that the cue has found a good home ) but i do miss it... am hoping to have it replaced some time soon :)

john, up close and personal, your cues are truly spectacular... thank you for all the joy you have added to my days on the table...

with respect and appreciation,
kam

That is "kinda" nice. Maybe we can get in line to buy it when Kam decides to upgrade.

Hi John,

2) What do you do to keep yourself in shape to be able to run your foot pedal driven lathe for so many hours at a time without tiring?

I hope John does not mind me sharing this top secret picture.

I don't have any questions. I just wanted to ask you to give your wife a hug and kiss from us.

Mr. Showman, first I'd like to state that your Buddy Hall "U.S. Open" cue is one of my all time favorites.

My question is: do you screen your customers to weed out those you deem to be commissioning one of your cues to be built, for the sole intent of immediately "flipping," for a nice profit?

Hi John
Besides what you learned from Rocky, did you do the Frankenstein thing and take apart broken cues to see how they were put together or did you just do your own thing?

Have you ever made a phenolic joint cue?

Would you say making cues in Florida is an advantage since you have so many pros to test drive them first?

Paul <---still thinking of more questions

First post here.

All I have to ask is when are you getting back to Massachusetts?

i have no idea, my boys are up there now. They went cave exploring and treasure hunting somewhere in nh last weekend....they get to have all the fun.

The steaks I have ready to grill are stinking up the house.

don't you have a freezer? that sounds great.

Please don't tell me you've switched to tofu.

that's funny i just had some tonight, trying to slim down so i can get closer to the lathe.

My wife is Japanese and big on Tofu. I'm so proud of our daughter when she spits it out.

now thats really funny... kids are so cute, my baby girl just got her cast of her leg as she is climbing on the furniture again yelling SUPER BABY!!

additional questions:

who's been your biggest influences in your cue building career besides rocky tillis?

george and gus...i just love their definition of a cue and of course the wizard ernie (my hero) /b]

what's some of the best advice you've gotten in terms of cue making?

[b]shaft taper from jerry franklin, schick method of templates and bufing tecniques from ron haley, just how good cue work can be from dennis searing.

can you post some pics of your favorite cues for those who aren't familiar with your work (as well as those who want to drool over some good cue porn)?

we are trying to send pictures to jimbo so he can post .

I'd like to know what kind of fish you like to fish for the most.

i love trout fish in the mountains and in small streams, i use to go to the little shenango 4 ft wide in some spots we use to have to sneek up to the bank or you could never catch any of the brookes....they're too smart.

i also like walleye and crappie cause they taste so good.
