This is one of my greatest cue stories to date, I bought this cue on e-bay, that isn't the fun part. The fun part is this cue showed up the day I was leaving for the APA nationals, I really didn't give it a second look, it was a pretty cool Palmer cue, but it was one of the ones that was made from the cheap asian titlist blanks with the funny colors. I liked the window and it came with a leather wrap and case both kinda rare, yet still not my style and really not a valuable cue IMO. What brought me back to this cue was what was written in the window, it said *Jimmy Vegas* the auction was a week long and the better I did in the tournament the more I couldn't stop thinking of *Jimmy Vegas*. I had no clue who Jimmy Vegas is/was if he was a real player, a gambler a poker player or if it was just a goof, I tried to research it for a while but came up with nothing. Finally I said to myself if we win this tournament I am buying this cue I don't care what it costs me. Sure enough we did win and I did buy it, I waaaay over paid for it and later found out I was in a bidding war with my good friend Rick G who happens to collect Palmer window cues. The part of the story that makes it funnier is that I must have spent an additional $20 watching and bidding on it in the lobby of the Riv paying for internet by the minute (this was 2002 there was no free wireless) on a silly computer kiosk thingy.

The case is a little beat up, but you don't see many of these palmer cases around

The window has a small crack but is in pretty good shape otherwise

The leather is original and one of the best I have ever seen, the seam is almost undetectable, really great job. Pic is bad it's black.

As I said cheesy Asian points, I am sure an expert like Tate can chime in I believe it's second catalog or later

Cool story and very interesting veneer issue. Is this only for the one point? It might be interesting if they did it purposefully on each point...lol.
